1. no time for the Gwen Stefani look this week, unfortunately
2. this is a fun little dance tune
3. I'm giving away 10 Shockwave packages for those of you in Germany, Austria & Switzerland! The mousse, gel & hairspray featured in my 80's video. All you need to do is leave a comment on the video here
4.Don't forget to put sunscreen above your lip! I forgot this for about 20 years and the wrinkles? not hot.
Naturally I was thrilled when Allouchka of Allouchka Beauty Face sent me a packet to play with. The designs were hand drawn by CHANEL's creative director Peter Phillips and they are
absolutely breathtaking!
The sparrows & chains all have a 3d effect that is stunning
My friend Susan (and salsa-dance-partner-in-crime)
came over & let me tattoo her
For her back I chose 2 sparrows connected by a gorgeous chain
Are you kidding me? The detail is hot hot hot
we work it out at BHB's! get a little friday attitude up in here!
then I got in on the sparrow action...
(in case you could care less wondering - this is the same twist hairdo that I showed you in the femme fatale video here)
Since I started making videos on YT I get a lot of questions about where I'm from and why I'm in Germany. Here is a video that addresses those questions. Thank-you for all of the lovely comments on the video. I hope I can persuade some of you to travel outside of your country
I collaborated this week with Wella & their new hairstyling line SHOCKWAVESto do a BLAST FROM THE PAST 1980s hair tutorial
(in German with English subtitles)
the 80's were all about mousse & scrunching..
1. wet hair
2. apply copious amounts of mousse
3. scrunch like a mofo
and then bite some chains! grrrrrrr....
you also need a lot of red lipstick...!
(I've always been sorta scared of red lipstick so this video was a great excuse to bust it out)
inspiration for the hair tutorial was taken from the movie "Desperately Seeking Susan" which was the first movie I was allowed to see with friends (i.e. without my mom)
note: this video will really get you into the groove!
I took 2 hours to get ready for the movie and wore lace gloves, a headband made out of panty hose and a crucifix.
My best friend, Vanise, was Catholic and I remember her mom driving us to the movie and being pretty shocked about the crucifix.
My mom (who isn't particularly religious - although in a weird twist of events is actually on a pilgrimage in Spain right now)
sat me down for a talk about the crucifix "situation"
basically she spoke about the power of religious symbols and asked if I wanted to offend people for the sake of fashion. I think my reply was "chill out"

My video shows you this fun madonna french twist (pictured above) and the classic headband/curls combo
80s inspired hair is big time in Berlin right now &
I love it
Soooo many cute boys running around with curls/high hair
It's a New Wave invasion
CHECK OUT 80's BERLIN in the Depeche Mode video below...
Love the shots of locals munchin' on curry wurst
(the Berlin Wall makes an appearance as well)
